Festival of Climbing 2026

The RAF Festival of Climbing 2026 kicks off with the RAF Climbing Championships. All abilities from novices to RAF team hopefuls welcome! The Festival will continue with an indoor training day on Friday and a weekend meet in the Peak District - see links below

As part of the RAF Climbing Champs and Festival of Climbing, there will be a day of coached climbing focused on lead climbing, along with a "learn to lead" session.

RAFMA's April Meet will be host to the Festival of Climbing and is based out of the Pondside Bunkhouse (Plus camping), Thorpe Farm, Hathersage, Hope Valley S32 1EG, UK. Members will have the opportunity to undertake climbing and hiking activities in beautiful Peak District.

RAFMA's May Meet will be based out of the Kilmory Public Hall, Isle of Arran, KA27 8PQ. Members will have the opportunity to undertake climbing and hiking activities on the Isle of Arran, famous as 'Scotland in miniature'.

ROCK VENTURE 25 will explore the climbing on offer in Ariege, France. Expressions of interest have now closed and this link is for those who have been selected for the team to make payment. Payment deadlines: Single Payment (instructors) - 28 Feb 2 Instalments (Novice/development) - 31 Jan, 28 Feb

Ex ROCK VENTURE 26 will explore the brilliant climbing in Ailefroide, France, which offers everything from bouldering to long multipitch routes. The expedition will cater for all, offering novices a foundation qualification and advanced climbers the chance to push themselves on excellent rock.

RAFMA's August Family Meet will be based out of Pentre Bach Bunkhouse & Campsite. RAFMA members and family members will have the opportunity to undertake climbing and hiking activities in the Clwydian Range of North Wales.

RAFMA will be running its Scotland Meet and Winter Concentration Week out of the Robson Resilience Centre( Grantown-on-Spey) between 13 - 20 March. There will be limited places available for Members to undertake their Winter Mountaineering Foundation (WMF) qualification.

RAFMA's February Meet will be based out of the NACATC , Windermere, Cumbria, LA23 2BJ. Members will have the opportunity to undertake climbing and hiking activities in beautiful Lake District National Park.

An opportunity for those in Scotland to benefit from Peer to Peer Climbing Training at The Ledge, Inverness.

An opportunity for those in the North of England to benefit from Peer to Peer Climbing Training at Awesome Walls, Sheffield.

RAFMA January meet will be running out of the Nuffield Centre, Llanfair, Angelsey. Members will have the opportunity to undertake Hiking and Climbing activities in Snowdonia National Park.
