The two previous weeks have seen over 50 candidates for both the trekking and mountaineering teams deploy to Grantown-on-Spey and Dundonnel to take part in winter training in as a foundation for further training.

Although winter was uncharacteristically warm, with temperates soaring up to 16C on some tops, opportunity was taken to exploit these opportunities, with a number of WMF qualifications given, scrambling and rock climbing activities.

Notable ascents include a full traverse of the Cuillin Ridge and the Old Man of Stoar as well as some of the classic climbs and scrambles in the Cairngorms National Park.
